a Message from James McClusky, General Manager

JAMA Development wasn’t built overnight; it was built from the ground up, the right way.

My story in the construction industry started at just 15 years old, working for a Michigan painting and construction company that didn’t just hand out jobs, they taught the trade. From prep work to final finishes, every detail mattered. That early hands-on experience laid the foundation for something bigger: a deep respect for craftsmanship, discipline, and doing the job right the first time.

After joining the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, the experience only accelerated. Moving quickly into a foreman role, leading crews and managing job sites, it became about more than just construction for me, it became about leadership, accountability, and delivering results under real-world pressure. Every project brought new challenges, and with them, a broader understanding of the construction industry as a whole.

Along the way, one thing became clear to me: great construction isn’t just about skill, it’s about precision, systems, and standards.
